Meet your Guide, Boyd -  Fishing is more than a job or hobby for me, it runs deep in my roots. From a little boy on, I have loved to fish and some of my greatest childhood memories are from my family ice fishing trips, across the Midwest chasing perch. During these trips, I learned to adapt my techniques with each new lake. I love putting in the work to figure out what brings in the trophy. Two great triumphs come to mind when I think about fishing. The first was when I was about 10, fishing from a dock I caught my first musky, which was the start of my passion. I loved the numerous hours spent with my dad musky fishing. My second triumph was catching lake trout while ice fishing, but none of these compares to the joy it brings helping others catch the perch of a lifetime on a lake that presents its difficulties. Being a guide on Lake Gogebic is truly one of life's rewards. Helping others and especially the youth catch huge perch is what is most important to me.

Jumbo perch are affectionately known as the 'Teeter Pig'The latest technology, and a variety of specialized jigging rods, and spring bobbers will be utilized to catch the jumbo perch.  Wigglers!  Mayfly larva (also called Wigglers) is the primary ice fishing bait on Lake Gogebic and their primary forage.
